Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse falls on the road to Chowan, 12-9

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team fell to Chowan University in a Conference Carolinas contest, 12-9, Saturday afternoon. The loss dips LMC's record to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

The Hawks jumped on LMC early with a pair of goals on free-position attempts. Tiffany Laster got LMC on the board with 20:48 to go in the first half to make it 2-1, but Chowan netted the next three goals to take a 5-1 advantage on Lees-McRae. The Bobcats battled back scoring three of the next four goals, which cut the deficit to 6-4 heading into halftime.

LMC continued to battle in the second half, but it seemed like whenever the Bobcats scored the Hawks scored as well. Chowan ended up holding on for the 12-9 win Saturday.

Peyton LeCompte registered seven points Saturday and scored six of the team's nine goals. Laster scored another goal to add to the one she had in the first half to finish with two. Constance Madden accounted for the other goal for the Bobcats.

Dayna Decsare took the loss for LMC dropping her record to 1-3 on the season. Decesare stopped eight of the 20 shots thrown her way Saturday.

Lees-McRae is scheduled to return to action Feb. 19 when it hosts Barton at Tate Field. First faceoff is set for 2 p.m.
