TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team dropped a pair of games to close out its 2017 regular season Saturday to North Greenville by scores of 3-0 and 12-4. The losses move LMC's record to 14-32 overall and 6-16 in conference play.

Game 1 Recap: NGU starter Amanda Coffin scattered five Bobcat hits over seven innings of work to help her team to a 3-0 victory in game one. Chelsea Digregorio had two of LMC's five hits in the contest, while Noel Cassidy, Sarah Tucker and Sarah Stallings accounted for the other three hits for the squad.

Kara Cunningham took the loss in the circle for LMC dropping her record to 7-11. Cunningham struck out six Crusader hitters in the start and allowed three runs (all earned) on four hits.

Game 2 Recap: The Crusaders began the second game with a bang as they scored five runs in the top of the first inning to account for all the offense they would need in game two as they went on to win by a score of 12-4.

Valerie Hickey went 2-for-4 and drove in two of the team's four runs in the contest to lead LMC's offense. Cassidy also had two hits with a 2-for-3 outing at the plate.

Charlie Dutton was saddled with the loss moving her record to 2-11 on the season. Dutton worked two thirds of an inning and allowed five runs on three hits and two walks.

Next Up: Despite the losses, the Bobcats did clinch a spot in the conference tournament Saturday with the results around the league. LMC will be the No. 8 seed, but its opponent for the first round is yet to be determined. The Bobcats will begin the tournament April 28 in Burlington, N.C. in the first round of the tournament.
