HICKORY, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team fell to Lenoir-Rhyne University by a score of 2-1 Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest. The loss moves LMC's record to 1-5-2 on the season.

The Bears controlled the pace of play in the game's first 45 minutes as they outshot the Bobcats 15-0. Two of those shots found the back of the net as Abbie Brown and Hannah Van Eerden both tallied goals to put Lenoir-Rhyne up 2-0 going into the halftime break.

Lees-McRae would not only keep the Bears off the scoreboard in the second half but it also would net a goal of their own. In the 70th minute, sophomore Riley Neese scored her team-leading fourth goal of 2017 to narrow the deficit to 2-1. Unfortunately, Neese's goal was all the offense that the Bobcats could muster as the Bears held on for the 2-1 victory.

Alexis Feely took the loss in goal for Lees-McRae moving her record to 1-4-2. Feely did make eight saves Wednesday bringing her league-leading total to 66 on the season.

The Bobcats will return home to Tate Field on Saturday when they host Southern Wesleyan as a part of the school's Homecoming activities. Kickoff between the Bobcats and Warriors is set for 1:30 p.m.
