Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bobcats cruise to an 88-72 win over Limestone Saturday

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Four members of the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team finished in double figures Saturday afternoon as the Bobcats downed Limestone at Williams Gymnasium, 88-72. The victory is the team's fourth in the row improving its record to 12-6 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

The turnover bug plagued the Saints in the opening 20 minutes. Limestone turned the ball over 12 times, which led to 16 Bobcat points. Those 16 points by LMC were the difference in the opening half as it held a 47-31 advantage at the halftime break.

Limestone and Lees-McRae played to a tie in second half. Both squads scored 41 points each and shot about the same percentage from the field (50.0 to 48.5). The cushion that the Bobcats built in the first half proved to be the difference as they went on to defeat the Saints, 88-72.

63 of LMC's 88 points in the contest came from Donte Falls, Jason Saintizaire, Lepreece Lynch and Quay Kimble. Falls and Saintizaire paced the attack with 18 points each with Lynch chipping 17 and Kimble adding 10.

Lees-McRae will look to win its fifth straight game Tuesday when it travels to Emmanuel (GA) for another Conference Carolinas clash. LMC narrowly edged the Lions last Saturday, 76-74, when the two teams matched up in Banner Elk. Tip-off for Tuesday's matchup is set for 7:30 p.m.
