BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team dropped their non-conference match to visiting Newberry on Wednesday (Oct. 3) 1-0.
Game Summary - The Wolves would strike for the only goal in the 11th minute when Sierra Chavez found Emma Harms at the top of the box off a failed clear by the Bobcats. Harms scored her fourth of the season that would serve as the game-winner. The Bobcats got several looks at the net, but could not get one through.
Stats Rundown - Lees-McRae out-shot Newberry 12-9 including with each team registering five shots on goal. Alexa Todd fired a team-high four shots, while Pali Smith recorded three shots. Lindsey Bowden logged two shots, while three others each tallied one shot. Hope Sanborn (0-2-0) made four saves in the loss.
Up Next - The Bobcats are back at home on Homecoming Saturday (Oct. 6) when they host Converse in Conference Carolinas action. Kickoff is slated for 1:45 p.m. at Tate Field.
