BRISTOL, Tenn. – Despite receiving an 18-point effort from freshman Andrew Gardner, the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team fell in non-conference action to Flagler College Saturday afternoon in Bristol, Tennessee. The loss pushes LMC's record to 0-2 on the young season.

When looking at Saturday's box score, the Bobcats and Saints were pretty even across the board except in one particular category. Flagler attempted 39 free throws on the day compared to just 17 for the Bobcats. With those added attempts, the Saints ended up outscoring Lees-McRae 28-11 from the free throw line in the contest, which more than accounted for the 13-point gap between the two squads.

As mentioned earlier, Gardner led LMC on the scoreboard Saturday with 18 points. Gardner also snagged a team-high five rebounds on the day as well. Sophomore Quay Kimble was the only other Bobcat to score in double figures Saturday with 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor to go along with a team-best three assists.

Lees-McRae will be back in action Wednesday night when it travels to Carson-Newman for a critical regional matchup. Tip-off for that game is set for 7 p.m.
