BELMONT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team saw its 2018 season come to an end Tuesday afternoon in the opening round of the conference tournament at Belmont Abbey by a score of 26-9. The loss concludes LMC's record at 2-7 on the season.

Lees-McRae was led in the contest by freshman Jonathan Barry. Barry, who ended his freshman season scoring at least one point in eight of the nine games he played, scored a career-high six points (3g, 3a) in the contest.

Alec Molander was not far behind Barry adding four points (1g, 3a), while also leading the team with six ground ball pickups. Tanner Jones joined Barry in scoring a hat trick on eight shots in his final game as a Bobcat. Chris Lamay rounded out the point scorers for LMC Tuesday netting himself a pair of goals.

Vicente Ortiz-Sanchez took the loss in goal for the Bobcats after stopping four of 30 shots faced. His record moves to 0-2 on the season with the defeat.

The Bobcats will return the bulk of their roster for 2019. LMC will lose seniors Jones, Lamay and Gabe Soto to graduation. With those departures, Lees-McRae is scheduled to return 13 players from this season's team for next spring.
