Women's Soccer falls at home to Lynn on Saturday

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team dropped its home contest to visiting Lynn University on Saturday (Sept. 1) at Tate Field by a score of 2-0.

Game summary – The two teams were back and forth for the first part of the opening half, before Gabriela Moreira scored what would be the winner at the 28-minute mark off an assist from Morgan Meltzer. The Fighting Knights would take their 1-0 lead to the half, before Monica Rojas scored her first of the season in the 62nd minute from Tara Harris to double her team's lead for good.

Stats rundown - LMC totaled 14 shots in the contest, including putting seven on net. Katie Jo Daniel and Sarah Giarusso each put two shots on frame, while three other Bobcats each fired one shot on net in the loss. Alexis Feely (0-2-0) recorded her second straight game with double-digit saves, stopping 10 shots in the match.

Up next - The Bobcats will hit the road for the first time this season on Wednesday (Sept. 5) when they travel to Jefferson City, Tenn. for a 7:00 p.m. date with No. 2 Carson-Newman.
