BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team fell on the road to King University by a score of 1-0 in Conference Carolinas action Wednesday evening.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats controlled the bulk of offensive chances in Wednesday's contest. Lees-McRae outshot King 23-18 on the night and had more corner kicks than the Tornado as well, 4-3. King scored the lone goal of the match in the 22nd minute as Anya Gross scored unassisted to provide all the offense her team would need.

As mentioned earlier, the Bobcats had the edge in chances in the match against the Tornado. Pali Smith attempted six shots that were goal, while Nicole Shapiro (three) and Ashley Herndon (two) also put multiple chances on target.

Hope Sanborn ended up taking the loss in goal for the Bobcats Wednesday. Sanborn, whose record moves to 1-10-1 with the loss, made seven saves on eight opportunities against King.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday when they host Barton College in their final match of the 2019 season. Prior to the match, the team will honor its senior class. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. from Tate Field.
