GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team fell to number one ranked Limestone College on the road on Friday afternoon by a final score of, 26-11.
The Saints came out on the offensive, scoring the first six goals of the contest. Lees-McRae got on the board with their first goal at the eight minute mark of the first period, courtesy of Jackson Galloway. The Bobcats scored two more goals in the first, with galloway adding to his total and Ryan Beauchamp also finding the net. The second period went largely the way of the first, with Limestone able to add to their growing lead. The saints scored seven goals to the Bobcats two and at the end of the second period, the score stood 20-5.
Lees-McRae continued to fight, scoring the first three goals out of the break to help close the deficit and matching the Saints goal for goal in the third and fourth periods. Limestone however proved to be too much, holding on to their advantage and going on to win, 26-11.
The Bobcats were led by Ryan Beauchamp who finished the night with six goals on nine shots and one assist.
Lees-McRae will return to action next Tuesday when they travel to Mars Hill to take on the Lions. The match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
