Bobcats fall at No. 14 Limestone on Sunday

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team fell on the road at Limestone Sunday afternoon by a score of 19-0. The loss moves Lees-McRae's record to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas action.

Limestone jumped on the Bobcats early and scored 13 goals in the first half. The Saints, who netted six goals in the second half, were able to keep the Bobcat offense from getting going thanks to pressure defense. As a team, Limestone caused Lees-McRae to turn the ball over 19 times in the contest. With Limestone clicking so well both offensively and defensively, the Bobcats ultimately fell by a score of 19-0.

The four shot attempts for Lees-McRae in the contest were put together by a pair of players. Makayla Willets and Kalbie Grassett each attempted two shots each against the Saints. Additionally, Haley Donovan paced the Bobcats with five draw controls in the matchup.

Emily Davidson started in goal for the Bobcats on Sunday and played all 60 minutes. Davidson made a season-high 12 saves against Limestone and also picked up a team-high eight ground balls as well.

Lees-McRae is scheduled to be back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Emmanuel in its home opener. The contest between the Lions and Bobcats is set for 4 p.m.
