BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Johannes Oeksnevad scored twice and added an assist, while
Zach Aversano and
Daniel Garvilla also scored, to lead the Lees-McRae men's soccer team to a 4-0 shutout victory over host King in the Conference Carolinas contest this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- King started off with three shots and a corner kick in the first eight minutes, but it was the Bobcats who broke the early deadlock with a goal in the 14th minute as Aversano scored his fifth goal of the season on a penalty kick.
- Lees-McRae had a pair of late scoring chances, but a timely save by the Tornado held the score at 1-0 at halftime.
- The Bobcats extended the lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute as Garvilla scored his fourth goal of the season off an assist from Oeksnevad.
- Oeksnevad closed out the Bobcats' scoring with a pair of second-half goals just 52 seconds apart to push the Lees-McRae lead to 4-0 with 20 minutes left to play. Harrison Watts picked up an assist on the first goal.
- The Bobcats held the Tornado without a shot in the final 12 minutes to complete the conference win.
- Joshua Garvilla needed to only make four saves en route to his third shutout of the season.
- Lees-McRae held a 17-14 edge in shots and a 7-4 advantage in shots-on-goal.
FOR THE FOES:
- Dalton Gammon and Collin Parsons combined to make three saves in net for King.
NOTEWORTHY:
- With the victory, Lees-McRae earns another point in the season-long "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" competition.
