WILSON, N.C. – Barton scored just under three minutes into the second half, while holding the visiting Bobcats in check for the full 90 minutes, en route to clinching a 1-0 victory in the Conference Carolinas opener this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats had multiple scoring chances early in the first half, tallying two shots and three corner kicks in an eight-minute span, and a final scoring opportunity by Johannes Oeksnevad just before the halftime whistle, but failed to break the deadlock.
- The Bulldogs finally broke through with a goal in the 48th minute off a corner kick.
- Stephon Davis and Cameron Morton both had scoring chances in the final two minutes, but Lees-McRae had one shot blocked and the other miss just wide as Barton escaped with the conference win.
- The Bulldogs outshot the Bobcats 17-7 in the contest.
- Anton Sundstrom tallied five saves in net for Lees-McRae.
FOR THE FOES:
- Tobias Nielsen scored the lone goal off an assist by Nico Rocksien.
- Jacob Randolph finished with two saves to earn the victory in net for the Bulldogs.
