Conference Carolinas Playoff Bracket
BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's basketball will make its seventh-consecutive Conference Carolinas postseason appearance as it visits No. 4 North Greenville as the No. 5 seed on Tuesday, March 2 at 6 p.m.
Scouting the Bobcats…Lees-McRae finished the regular season with a 6-5 overall (6-5 Conference Carolinas) record and was the highest-scoring team in the conference this season at 93.5 points/game.
Junior
Jamarius Hairston leads the Bobcats and is eighth in the conference in scoring at 15.1 points/game while also being eighth in blocks with 10 in 11 games this season. Senior
Quay Kimble is second in scoring and 11th in the Conference Carolinas at 13.8 points/game and leads the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.477), assists/game (4.9), and assist/turnover ratio (3.2). Junior
Cale Harris leads the team in rebounding at 4.7 rebounds/game.
Scouting the Crusaders…North Greenville enters with a 9-6 overall (9-6 Conference Carolinas) record and is riding a three-game winning streak to close the season. The Crusaders clinched the only meeting this seasons with a 91-75 win on Feb. 22.
Senior Jalon Cokley paced the Crusaders and is fifth in the conference in scoring at 17.3 points/game and leads the team in rebounding at 5.4 rebounds/game this season. Seniors Jacob Redding and Tracus Chisholm are both also scoring in double figures, averaging 13.5 and 10.4 points/game this season.
Postseason history…The Bobcats are 3-5 in postseason appearances since the 2014-15 season, with all three wins coming in 2017-18 when Lees-McRae won its first-ever conference title. Lees-McRae lost to eventual-champion Southern Wesleyan in the most recent playoff appearance on March 3, 2020.
What's next…The winner of Tuesday's Conference Carolinas quarterfinal contest will advance to the semifinal on Thursday, March 4 against the winner of No. 1 Emmanuel and No. 8 King.
