BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae men's volleyball team won the first set by using 12 kills but failed to hold the momentum as Jamestown claimed the final three sets to post a four-set victory over the host Bobcats in the non-conference match this evening.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Jamestown def. Lees-McRae, 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-14)

RECORDS: Jamestown (12-2), Lees-McRae (0-12)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Michael Marsans posted a team-high 11 kills to go along with six digs.
- Bradley Peters finished with eight kills, while Ethan Gardner tallied two solo blocks and three block assists.
- Riley Chapman and Steven Nalls chipped in 28 set assists and 11 digs respectively.
- The Bobcats battled out of the gates by using a 6-2 run to take an early lead and using a pair of Jamestown attacking errors to claim the first stanza, 25-23.
- The lead changed hands multiple times in the second set until the Jimmies closed on a 7-1 to clinch a 25-21 victory in set two.
- Jamestown used an 11-1 run in the third set to win the frame, 25-15, and clinched the four-set match with a 25-14 win in set four.
- The Jimmies finished with a 56-32 advantage in kills with both teams tallying nine blocks.
FOR THE FOES:
- Caylor Cox and Tanner Woods finished with 15 and 11 kills respectively to pace the Jimmies.
- Derek Correa tallied a game-high 45 set assists, while Braden Neumann finished with nine digs.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Following tonight's match, senior Ethan Gardner is now in sole possession of second all-time in solo blocks (50), fifth in block assists (145), and is currently fourth in total blocks (195).
