Michael Marsans,
Ethan Gardner, and
Ace Backer all posted double-digit kills, while
Bradley Peters nearly set a new career-high with 45 set assists, as the Lees-McRae men's volleyball team pushed host Mount Olive to the full five sets before falling 17-15 in the final set to the Trojans.

FINAL SCORE: Mount Olive def. Lees-McRae, 3-2 (27-25, 26-28, 22-25, 25-13, 17-15)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Marsans finished with a team-high 15 kills and five digs, while Gardner posted 11 kills and four total blocks.
- Backer chipped in 11 digs and six block assists.
- Bradley Peters tallied a double-double with 45 set assists and 14 digs, while Steven Nalls and Max Kuntz finished with 15 and 11 digs respectively.
- Lees-McRae and Mount Olive traded runs for the majority of the first set, until the Trojans used a pair of service aces to claim a 27-25 win in set one.
- After Mount Olive used a 5-1 run to take a 25-24 lead in set two, the Bobcats tallied a pair of kills by Gardner and Backer to clinch a 28-26 win in set two.
- Neither team shifted momentum in the third set, with the lead staying within a few points, until Lees-McRae posted three-consecutive kills to win the third set with a 25-22 victory.
- Mount Olive jumped out to an early 11-4 in the fourth frame en route to clinching a 25-13 victory.
- The Bobcats won 10 of the first 14 points in the final set to take the early lead, but their offense stalled as the Trojans evened the score at 13-13.
- After an attacking error by Mount Olive evened the score back to 15-15, the Trojans closed out the conference victory on a kill and an attacking error by Lees-McRae.
- The Bobcats held a 12-5 edge in blocks, with a 20-10 advantage in block assists, but were outscored 77-55 in kills.
FOR THE FOES:
- Four Trojans finished with double-digit kills, led by Tobi Azeez who finished with a game-high 25 kills.
- Jarrod Ferguson chipped in 63 set assists and 14 digs, while Luke Visgitis added 13 kills.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Lees-McRae's 20 block assists against Mount Olive are the most in a game since Jan. 13, 2018
