Kalbie Grassett and
Sydney Floyd combined for 10 goals and three assists to lead the Lees-McRae women's lacrosse team to a 16-6 victory over host Chowan in the conference opener this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Grassett finished with a game-high six goals while chipping in seven ground balls, three caused turnovers, and seven draw controls.
- Floyd chipped in four goals and two assists, while Shannan Korovich posted three goals and three assists.
- Madi Barry and Haley Donovan finished with three goals and three assists respectively.
- Lees-McRae and Chowan traded goals early in the contest before the Bobcats closed the first half on a 6-0 to claim an 8-2 halftime lead. Korovich, Grassett, and Floyd all scored during this run.
- The Hawks opened the scoring just under a minute into the second half, but Lees-McRae scored eight of the next 10 goals, including three goals with an extra attacker, to push the game out of reach.
- The Bobcats held 27-10 shots on goal advantage, won 15 of the 23 draw controls, and finished 9-11 on clear attempts.
- Abigail Brucks finished with four saves in net for the Bobcats to earn the victory.
FOR THE FOES:
- Charity Brown and Brooke Woods-Pennell each finished with two goals to pace the Hawks.
- Mallory Dunker and Ariel Johnson shared time in net for Chowan, combining to make 11 saves.
