Men’s Lacrosse’s season ends at North Greenville in Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals, 19-13

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Five Bobcats tallied multiple goals, led by Craig Barr who finished with three goals and two assists, but it was not enough as No.3 North Greenville outscored the visiting sixth-seeded Bobcats 12-8 in the second half en route to claiming a 19-13 victory in the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals this afternoon.

RECORDS: North Greenville (7-6), Lees-McRae (1-11)
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Mike Moore and J.P. Galloway both finished with two goals and an assist, while Ryan Beauchamp and Ryan Bird both scored twice.
  • Brady Ferriter and J.P. Daniels also scored with Jonathan Barry and Tyler Finley adding an assist.
  • The Bobcats sprinted out of the gates by scoring three first-quarter goals to only one goal scored by the Crusaders. Beauchamp scored the first two goals with the third going to Barr.
  • North Greenville closed the first half on a 7-2 run to take a 7-5 halftime lead, with the two Lees-McRae goals going to Galloway and Bird.
  • After Barr scored to trim the deficit to 8-6 with 11:15 left in the third frame, the Crusaders scored six unanswered goals to extend the lead back to 14-6.
  • Lees-McRae outscored North Greenville 6-3 in the final 15 minutes of action, with goals coming from Barr, Galloway, Moore (two goals), Daniels, and Bird, but it was not enough as the Crusaders escaped with the victory.
  • North Greenville held a 31-26 edge in shots-on-goal and won 26 of 35 total face-off attempts.
  • Joshua Csanyi finished with a game-high 12 saves in net for the Bobcats.
 
FOR THE FOES:
  • Thomas Cecere scored a game-high six goals to go along with two assists for the Crusaders.
  • Joe Amici and Ashton Scott finished with a combined 13 saves for North Greenville.
