BANNER ELK, N.C. –
Rachel Crum notched her second goal of the season with a second-half marker off an assist by
Lauren Paulsen, but it was not enough as King scored just over three minutes later and held the host Bobcats scoreless in both overtime sessions en route to a 1-1 tie in the Conference Carolinas action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats' offense took control early with seven shots in the first 15 minutes of action but had its best scoring opportunity of the first half on a shot by Pali Smith that found the goalkeeper's hands to hold a 0-0 lead at the halftime whistle.
- Lees-McRae finally broke the deadlock in the 55th minute as Crum received a pass just inside the 18-yard box and rocketed a shot into the bottom right corner to give the Bobcats a 1-0.
- The Tornado evened the score on a free kick in the 58th minute.
- King held the Bobcats scoreless in the final 32 minutes to force overtime.
- The Tornado held a slim 5-4 edge in shots in the two overtime sessions but the Lees-McRae defense held as the game ended with a 1-1 score.
- Hope Sanborn finished with six saves in net for the Bobcats.
- Lees-McRae held a 26-12 edge in shots in the game and a 15-7 advantage in shots-on-goal.
FOR THE FOES:
- Taylor Stubbs scored the goal for the Tornado off a set-piece.
- Lucy Barrientos finished with a game-high 14 saves in net for King.
