Harrison Watts, and
Fredrik Haave all scored their first goals of the season, while
M.J. Upchurch tallied three saves en route to earning his first shutout for the Bobcats, as the Lees-McRae men's soccer team posted a 4-0 victory over visiting Shaw in the non-conference contest this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae sprinted out of the gates with six shots in the first 23 minutes and were rewarded as Dyson collected a rebound off his own initial shot and buried it past the Shaw goalkeeper to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
- Garvilla doubled the Lees-McRae lead as he finished off a cross from Tamino Brown and headed it past the goalkeeper to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 32nd minute.
- The Bobcats outshot the Bears 12-4 in the first half and nearly pushed across their third goal of the half as Watts' shot was saved in the 43rd minute.
- Shaw held the Lees-McRae offense in check for the first 26 minutes of the second half, until Watts collected a header from Oeksnevad and buried his first goal as a Bobcat.
- Lees-McRae closed out the scoring in the 76th minute as Haave scored off an assist from Connor Hahn to extend the Bobcats' lead to 4-0.
- The Bobcats held a 20-10 shots (9-3 shots-on-goal) edge in the contest.
FOR THE FOES:
- Juan Ramirez finished with five saves in net for the Bears.

The Bobcats will return to Tate Field on Friday, Sept. 17 as they host Johnson & Wales in a non-conference contest starting at 6 p.m.
