SPARTANBURG, S.C. –
Alexa Todd and
Averee Andrews both scored first-half goals, while
Mallory Roughton needed to make only one save to earn her second shutout of the season, to lift the Lees-McRae women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over host Converse in the Conference Carolinas action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae sprinted out of the gates with a corner kick just 33 seconds into the contest and was rewarded as Todd received a pass from Gwen O'Brien and scored her second goal of the season in the ninth minute.
- After a combined four shots-on-goal from Taylor Barrineau, Maddy Klein, and O'Brien, the Bobcats extended their lead to 2-0 as Averee Andrews scored her first goal of the season in the 27th minute.
- Converse nearly cut into the deficit with a shot in the 41st minute but the Bobcats' defense held strong as the score remained 2-0 at halftime.
- The Valkyries had one final scoring chance in the 75th minute that was denied by Roughton to earn her second career shutout.
- Lees-McRae held a 9-5 shots edge and a 6-1 shots-on-goal advantage throughout the 90 minutes of action.
FOR THE FOES:
- Daelynn Perry made four saves in net for Converse.
