BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Lees-McRae women's soccer collected the 2-0 victory against Chowan in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon as three seniors were recognized prior to kicking off the match.

Mallory Roughton, and
Alexa Todd were all honored prior to the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Taylor Barrineau delivered the first goal of the game in the eighth minute of play as Gwen O'Brien sent in a solid kick off a corner kick.
- The Bobcats kept up the offensive pressure in the first half, but Chowan and Lees-McRae went into the intermission with the Bobcats leading by the one goal.
- Haley Lowman doubled the lead for Lees-McRae in the 72nd minute off an assist by Todd as the Bobcats scored off their second corner of the match.
- Chowan had one more chance on goal by senior goalkeeper Roughton kept the Hawks off the board for the full 90 minutes.
- Roughton hauled in three saves for the Bobcats as Todd tallied a match-high four shots on target.
FOR THE HAWKS:
- Natash Baker had two quality shots on net for Chowan and Cristina Flores registered the other shot on goal for the Hawks.
- Kirsten Peterson made seven saves in the contest for the Hawks.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 19 when the Bobcats head to the campus of Erskine for a league matchup with the Flying Fleet. The kickoff on Wednesday is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
