TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's soccer faced No. 3 North Greenville in the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship Quarterfinal on Saturday night as the Crusaders prevailed 2-0 in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- NGU got on the board first as Renan Macuglia scored the first goal of the night as he was subbed three minutes prior before scoring in the 33rd minute of play. North Greenville got a break in the 36th minute as a Crusader was taken down just inside the 18-yard box as Reda Ikarrain converted on the penalty shot to double the lead for North Greenville.
- The Bobcats and North Greenville headed into the halftime break with the Crusaders leading 2-0.
- In the second half, Kevan Wambugu had the first shot on target for the Bobcats in the 57th minute, but NGU's Michel Weber made the stop. Watts had a shot sail high off a quick restart for Lees-McRae in the 60th minute.
- Lees-McRae continued to battle in the second half as Gray Smith added a shot on target in the 76th minute but his shot fell in the hands of the Crusader goalkeeper.
- Joshua Garvilla hauled in one save for the Bobcats as the sophomore goalie saw 90 minutes in goal on the contest.
- NGU and Lees-McRae were level in shots at seven apiece with the Crusaders having three shots on target to the Bobcats' two.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Weber matched Garvilla with two stops on the night as he recorded his fourth shutout of the season.
- Ikarrain and Macuglia tallied the goals for North Greenville in the 2-0 victory as the Crusaders will advance to the Conference Carolinas Semifinals. NGU will face No. 2 Francis Marion on Nov. 4 in Browns Summit, North Carolina.

Lees-McRae finishes the 2022 campaign with a record of 8-3-7 and 5-1-5 in league contests.
Fletcher Dyson led the Bobcats with 10 goals on the season and 25 total points in 18 matches played.
