WILSON, N.C. - The Lees-McRae men's basketball team, under head coach
Steve Hardin, will face No. 6 Barton as the No. 7 seed in the second round of the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship on Monday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in Wilson, North Carolina. The Bobcats opened the conference tournament with an 80-73 win over No. 10 Chowan in the first round on Sunday.
The winner of Monday's second round contest will advance the quarterfinal round on Friday, March 4 to take on No. 3 Belmont Abbey at 1:30 p.m. in Spartanburg, South Carolina. For the full men's basketball bracket, click

Scouting the Bobcats… The Bobcats closed out the regular season with a 14-13 overall (12-12 conference) record to clinch the seventh seed in the playoffs. Senior
Drew Gardner paces the Bobcats and ranks 11th in the conference in scoring with 15.2 points/game and ranks tied for 11th in the league in rebounding (6.4 rebounds/game). Junior
Malik McConnell and sophomore
Jaylin Stewart are averaging 14.8 points/game and 10.0 points/game respectively, while junior
Sidney Dollar is tied for first in the league at 2.0 steals/game.
Scouting the Bulldogs…The Hawks closed out the regular season with a 100-81 win over the Bobcats to finish with a 15-13 overall (13-11 conference) record to earn the No. 6 seed in the conference playoffs. Sophomores Malik Bryant and Donaven Hairston rank fourth (16.7 points/game) and seventh (16.6 points/game) in the conference this season. Freshman Marcus Boykins is third on the team in scoring at 14.6 points/game this season.
The Rivalry…Lees-McRae is 10-24 all-time against the Bulldogs, but have won four of the previous six meetings. The teams split the regular-season series with the Bobcats defeating Barton, 83-82, in Wilson back on Dec. 18, 2021.
