BANNER ELK, N.C. – Four Bobcats scored in double figures, led by
Jessica Henderson with 18 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and four steals, but it was not enough as the Bobcats' late rally fell short in a 77-74 loss to Francis Marion in the Conference Carolinas action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Henderson shot 6 of 8 from the charity stripe, while MaKayla Smith finished with 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals.
- Jala Holloman and Malikah Meyers scored 12 and 11 points respectively, with Holloman adding five assists and Meyers chipping in five rebounds.
- Both teams traded points for the majority of the first quarter until a a late 5-2 run by the Bobcats gave Lees-McRae a 17-14 lead at the first intermission.
- The Bobcats extended their lead to as many as 14 points in the second frame, but failed to hold the momentum as Francis Marion cut the lead down to 39-36 at halftime.
- The Patriots outscored Lees-McRae 21-8 in the third quarter to take a 57-47 lead at the final intermission.
- The Bobcats slowly chipped away at the lead over the final 10 minutes of action and cut the deficit to 74-73 with 1:08 remaining.
- After three technical fouls were given out with 0.7 seconds remaining, Henderson connected on her free throw attempt to give the Bobcats a three-point deficit with the ball.
- A last-second three-point attempt nearly sent the game into overtime, but the miss gave the Patriots the conference win.
- Lees-mcRae held a 16-9 edge in points off turnovers, but were outscored 30-22 in the painted area.
FOR THE FOES:
- Three Patriots scored in double figures, led by Jada Richards 15 points, while Zaria Woods tallied nine points and 10 rebounds.
