Hanqing Wang and
Max Borisov won their #1 and #3 singles matches, but it was not enough as host Belmont Abbey won all three double matches and four singles matches en route to clinching a 5-2 win in the Conference Carolinas opener for both teams this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wang clinched the victory in the #1 singles match, after rallying from a first-set loss, by defeating his rival from Belmont Abbey with a 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 score.
- Borisov rallied from a loss in the first set to win his #3 singles match with a score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
- Sam Jones won the second set of his #4 singles match, before ultimately falling to his rival from Belmont Abbey.
