BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae men's and women's tennis programs were both named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team on Tuesday. 13 Bobcats earned the distinction of ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Lees-McRae women's tennis earned a team GPA of 3.72 for the 2025-26 academic year. The Bobcat men's tennis program collected a team GPA of 3.28.
Henry Austin, Grayson Busse, Lorenzo Ferrer Maza, and Tenzin Dorji were named as ITA Division II Men's Scholar-Athletes. Alexa Mazzei, Lily Smith, Pati Vedia Sanchez, Lina Ngassi Saqout, and Kylie Childers were tabbed as ITA Division II Women's Scholar-Athletes.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a grade-point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale). For student-athletes to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, they must be a varsity letter winner and have a grade-point average above 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale).
