BLUEFIELD, Va. –
Michael Marsans finished with a match-high 18 kills, while
Bradley Peters and
Steven Nalls finished with 31 assists and 10 digs respectively, but it was not enough host Bluefield held a slim 39-27 advantage in kills and a 7-5 edge in total blocks en route to clinching the three-set win over the Bobcats in the non-conference match this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Marsans finished with a .371 hitting percentage to go along with nine digs.
- Max Kuntz and Nicholas Brewster chipped in five kills each, while Peters also chipped in nine digs.
- Both teams traded runs early in the first set with Bluefield holding a 20-17 lead.
- The Bobcats responded with 4-1 run to shift momentum, but failed to hold onto it as Bluefield closed the set with four consecutive points to win the first set 25-22.
- The lead changed hands multiple times in the second set with Lees-McRae using a kill by Kuntz to cut the deficit to 23-22, but Bluefield closed with back-to-back kills to win the second set, 25-22.
- The Rams closed out the non-conference win with a 25-22 win in set three.
FOR THE FOES:
- JoVeaun Banks finished with a team-high 10 kills to pace the Rams, while Caleb Word added 30 assists.

The Bobcat will return to the McNair & Debi Tornow Court on Wednesday, March 9 as they host Aldersomn Broaddus in a non-conference match starting at 7 p.m.
