GREENVILLE, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball was recognized to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference honors last week, as announced by the conference office. Ben Fincham and Davide Nicolini were named to the all-conference teams. Nicolini collected Freshman of the Year Honors and Sam Albus was voted Coach of the Year for the second time in his coaching career.
Nicolini, a Castelnuovo Rangone, Italy native, led the Bobcats in major offensive categories with 288 total kills and 2.77 kills per set in 29 matches this season. Nicolini tallied 353 total points in his first year on campus and had a .215 hitting percentage. Nicolini earned first team honors along with his Freshman of the Year award. Nicolini earned the distinction of being on the championship all-tournament also.
Fincham, a Canonsburg, Pennsylvania native, switched to Opposite Hitter at the beginning of the season and collected 246 total kills in 103 sets and 2.39 kills per set for the Bobcats. Fincham was tabbed to the third team prior to the semifinals and recorded 53 total blocks for Lees-McRae.
In his fourth year with Lees-McRae, Albus was voted as the Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year after leading the Bobcats to a 7-7 league record and earning the third seed in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship. Albus was named Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year in 2023.
Lees-McRae men's volleyball concluded its season Saturday evening in the semifinals of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship. The Bobcats finished the season at 13-16 and earned their first win in the postseason since 2013.
