BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's soccer collected its first Conference Carolinas victory of the season with the 2-0 win against Emmanuel (Ga.) on Wednesday.
Averee Andrews and
Cami Belin collected goals for the Bobcats in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Andrews found the back of the net for Lees-McRae in the eighth minute of the first half as Hannah Davies earned the assist for one-goal lead.
- The Bobcats continued the offensive pressure with Belin finding the back of the net off a misplay by the Lions goalkeeper to double the advantage at the 33rd minute mark.
- Emily Gathercole had three saves in goal for Emmanuel but allowed two goals to find the back of the net.
- Lees-McRae handled the pressure by Emmanuel in the second half as the Bobcats earned their first league victory of the 2022 campaign.
- Haile Desmarais registered the clean sheet in net for the second consecutive start as she had four saves for the Bobcats.
- Taylor Barrineau, Lexi Hanson, and Priscilla Mawi joined Andrews and Belin with shots on target for Lees-McRae.
FOR THE LIONS:
- Emily Gathercole had three saves in goal for Emmanuel, but allowed two goals to find the back of the net.
- Briana Bishop, Zoe Logue, Olivia Weider, and Rachel Wegesand all had shots on goal for Emmanuel.
