Harrison Watts finished a pass from
Nils Schulze in the 12th minute, but Francis Marion found the equalizer in the 68th minute as Lees-McRae men's soccer recorded a 1-1 draw with the Patriots, No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region, on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Schulze intercepted a Patriot pass and found Watts for his second goal of the season in the 12th minute as the Bobcats led early 1-0. Francis Marion was held without a shot in the first half.
- FMU knotted the score at one goal apiece after Martin Gomez Juanche scored in the 68th of the match after an initial stop by Bobcat Sean Green.
- Jesper Jonsson and Leon Vrban had a shot on apiece in the last five minutes of the contest with Francis Marion, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
- Green made two saves on the day for Lees-McRae in 90 minutes of action.
FOR THE PATRIOTS:
- Gomez Juanche scored the match-tying goal for the Patriots and Felipe Ramos Peralta allowed the one goal on the day.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats return to Banner Elk on Tuesday, Oct. 17 for a "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" clash with King. The kickoff is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start on Tate Field.
