CENTRAL, S.C. – Lees-McRae women's volleyball posted their most wins in a single season since 2014 with the four-set victory at Southern Wesleyan this evening.
Sydney Stigler led the Bobcats with a season-high 23 kills on a .321 hitting percentage and
Destiny Holley posted her second match of the season with 20 or more kills with 21 on the night.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Southern Wesleyan, 3-1 (25-18, 25-19, 21-25, 25-13)

RECORDS: Lees-McRae (14-10/11-5); Southern Wesleyan (3-24/1-16)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stigler registered her ninth double-double of the season for the Bobcats with 23 kills and 20 digs in Wysinger Gymnasium and added three service aces in the match. Holley had an efficient night with .304 hitting percentage and four total blocks along with 21 kills.
- Hailey Gilreath had a season-best nine kills on a team-leading .533 hitting percentage and compiled six digs. Nicole Osborne had a season-high 18 digs in the match with her third consecutive match of 10 or more digs and seventh of the season.
- Madison Goins distributed 57 assists and collected seven digs in the contest for Lees-McRae. Lauren Xayavong had a match-high 26 digs to conclude the regular season for the Bobcats.
- Southern Wesleyan jumped out to a 5-0 start in the first, but Lees-McRae settled down and knotted the score in the first set at 6-6.The Bobcats used a four-point run at 15-11 and earned the first set at 25-18 after an attack error on the Warriors.
- In the second, Lees-McRae led early at 10-3 off back-to-back kills from Stigler. Stigler guided the Bobcats to the second-set win at 25-19 off another kill.
- SWU did not go away easily in the third as they bounced back with the 25-21 set victory on their home court. The Warriors broke a 19-19 tie and went on a three-point run and closed the set on a kill via Emily Ellis.
- The Bobcats locked back in the fourth set after a double block from Holley and Osborne at 14-7. Rebecca Ryan put down a kill at 19-11 and back-to-back service aces from Stigler gave Lees-McRae the four-set win at Southern Wesleyan this evening.
FOR THE WARRIORS:
- Ellis led the Warriors in the match with 10 kills and Gracie Wilson added eight kills in the season finale.
- Ashley Sexton contributed 13 assists in the contest and Hannah Wilson collected 10 assists. Kristina Pino had 23 digs for Southern Wesleyan.
