Emily Barr turned in a double-double performance on Wednesday afternoon with 21 points and 12 rebounds, but Lees-McRae women's basketball fell 80-69 to Emmanuel on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Barr led three Bobcats in double figures with 21 points on 9-15 shooting, adding 12 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. Aleysha Hill followed with 13 points and three assists and Leah Barringer joined Barr and Hill with 10 points off the bench.
- Kirsten Watt registered nine points on 3-8 from the floor. Logan Dutka had seven points on 2-4 shooting to go along with seven rebounds, one assist, and one block.
- Hill knotted the score at two points apiece with 7:05 left in the first quarter. Emmanuel finished the opening quarter on a 19-6 run to take the 21-8 after 10 minutes.
- The Bobcats cut the deficit to nine points off a steal via Shayne Burton and a fastbreak layup from Burton at 29-20. The Lions ended the half with the 41-25 lead after a made basket from Bobcat Kirsten Watt.
- Watt buried a three with 5:08 left in the third period to cut the deficit back to nine points, but Emmanuel continued to push its lead back to 10 and held the 58-48 advantage after 30 minutes of play.
- Barringer opened the fourth with a layup off an assist from Hill and Hill connected on her second free throw with 7:16 left in regulation. Lees-McRae trailed by seven at the 7:16 mark, but Emmanuel kept the eight-point margin throughout the quarter and claimed the 80-69 in Banner Elk this afternoon.
- Lees-McRae made a season-high 26 field goals and connected on 14-19 from the free-throw line. The Bobcats recorded five blocks and six steals in the game.
FOR THE LIONS:
- Emmanuel shot 49.2% (29-59) from the field with an efficient 7-11 from three-point range. The Lions knocked down 15-19 free throws en route to their third victory of the conference season.
- Sydney Wyatt had a game-high 28 points on 10-19 shooting to lead the Lions. Abby Crawford (17 points), Maddie Futch (11 points), and Ade'Jah James (10 points) joined Wyatt in double figures.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae women's basketball travels to Tigerville, South Carolina for a Conference Carolinas matchup with North Greenville on Saturday, Dec. 16. The contest is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
