Jones' Season-High 20 Points Not Enough in Men's Basketball's 101-80 Loss at Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Timon Jones had a season-high 20 points on 6-13 shooting for Lees-McRae men's basketball, but Mount Olive registered the 101-80 victory in Conference Carolinas on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Sidney Dollar and Jaylin Stewart joined Jones in double figures with 12 and 10 points respectively and Dollar also had four rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Bobcats.
  • Drew Gardner collected nine points on 4-7 shooting in 18 minutes off the bench for Lees-McRae and hauled in three rebounds.
  • Lees-McRae shot 29-62 (46.8%) from the field on the afternoon with seven three-point makes and had controlled the inside with 38 points in the paint.

FOR THE TROJANS:
  • Mount Olive had six players in double-digit on Saturday with Kaeleb Carter leading the way with 23 points on 7-13 shooting and five three-pointers. Colin Radcliffe added 17 points to his season totals and Aaron Murphy followed with 15 points and five boards.

UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae men's basketball heads to Bristol, Tennessee for a "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" clash with King on Monday night. The Tornado took the first game of the season in Banner Elk by a score of 96-86.
