Dollar Scores Career-High 20 Points as Men's Basketball Records 101-92 Victory over Belmont Abbey

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Sidney Dollar earned a career-high 20 points as Lees-McRae men's basketball collected the 101-92 victory on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Dollar had a career-high 20 points on an efficient 8-10 shooting to go along with six rebounds and five steals in the 101-92 win. 
  • Jeremy Golson and Drew Gardner followed Dollar with 19 points and Golson knocked down a season-high six three-pointers. Jaylin Stewart and Timon Jones rounded out the Bobcats in double figures with 16 and 12 points respectively.
  • Lees-McRae registered 22 points off 15 Crusader turnovers and held the advantage in bench points with 42 to Belmont Abbey's 14.
  • The Bobcats also shot a season-high 64.0% (16-25) from three-point range with 11 threes coming in the first half. Lees-McRae went 36-62 (58.1%) from the floor and 15 made baskets coming off assists.

FOR THE CRUSADERS:
  • Wade Jackson had a game-high 23 points on 8-14 shooting and six made three-pointers. Mason Taylor joined his fellow Crusader with 18 points and KJ Garrett followed with 15.
  • Mario Lacy, Jr. and Charles Solomon scored in double digits also for Belmont Abbey with 12 and 10 points respectively.
  • Belmont Abbey went 34-67 (50.7%) from the field with 12 from beyond-the-arc.
NOTEWORTHY:
  • Nico Ashley tallied a season-high five blocks and now holds the Lees-McRae single-season record for blocks with 49.

UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae men's basketball entertains North Greenville on Wednesday, Feb. 22 for the Bobcats' home finale. Lees-McRae will also recognize Follie Bogan and Gabe Bryant prior to the game getting underway at 7 p.m.
