Austin Beaird and
Michael Marsans combined for 21 kills on Thursday night as Lees-McRae men's volleyball fell in three sets to the visiting Royals of Queens (N.C.).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Marsans tallied his eighth match of the season with double-digit kills as the Pembroke Pines, Florida had 11 kills on a .304 hitting percentage for the Bobcats. Beaird followed with his first 10 or more kills in his freshman season as he had 10 kills and three digs.
- Bradley Peters distributed 33 assists on the night and added two more service aces. Peters holds the all-time record for career service aces at Lees-McRae and is currently leading the nation in aces with 52.
- M.J. Doyle registered eight kills, three digs, and one ace and Sebastian Heer followed with seven kills on a hitting percentage of .700 and three total blocks.
- Lees-McRae hit at .270 clip with Queens recording a hitting percentage of .466 and 43 total kills.
FOR THE ROYALS:
- Jack Brinkman had a match-high 15 kills to lead Queens in the sweep and Brian Schwob dished out 36 assists in the match.
- Matthew Pilch followed with nine kills on the night, and Daniel Leitao and Stirling Sims recorded seven kills apiece.

Lees-McRae caps their three-match homestand on Saturday, March 4 when the Bobcats host Randolph-Macon for a 2 p.m. match on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
