BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball recorded the four-set victory over Conference Carolinas foe Belmont Abbey in the Bobcats' home finale.
Michael Marsans paced the Bobcats with 15 kills and
Bradley Peters had 42 assists to go along with service aces and six digs.

FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Belmont Abbey, 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22)

RECORDS: Lees-McRae (10-14/6-7), Belmont Abbey (14-14/8-5)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae jumped out to a 17-12 lead in the first set after three consecutive kills for the Bobcats. The Bobcats pushed their advantage to 21-13 and closed out the set at 25-18 after a Crusader service error.
- Belmont Abbey evened the match at one set apiece with a 25-20 set win after hitting .240 in the second stanza.
- The Bobcats bounced back in the third after breaking a tie at 6-all with four consecutive points. M.J. Doyle registered an ace at 25-21 to give Lees-McRae the third set.
- Lees-McRae had their best hitting performance in the fourth set after hitting .303 and earning the set victory at 25-22. Doyle closed the match with an emphatic kill off an Peters' set.
- Marsans registered a hitting percentage of .265 along with his 15 kills and added four digs and two total blocks. Ace Backer followed with nine kills and three blocks.
- Sebastian Heer had a solid night after tallying eight kills and two blocks. Doyle rounded out his night with seven kills, three aces, and 11 digs.
- Peters distributed 42 assists in addition to his four service aces and six digs.
- As a whole, the Bobcats had a hitting percentage of .202 and recorded 46 kills on the night.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Ryan Charles led Belmont Abbey on the night with seven kills and Brian Knoerr followed with six kills on a .357 hitting percentage.

Lees-McRae men's volleyball finishes their season on the road with another point on the line in the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" with King on Thursday, April 13. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start in Bristol, Tennessee.
