Sydney Stigler tallied 17 kills and nine digs as Lees-McRae women's volleyball fell to the University of Charleston on Tuesday evening in four sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stigler, the reigning Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week, had her third consecutive match with double-digit kills on the season with 17 kills and a hitting percentage of .273.
- Patrycja Rykala followed Stigler with 11 kills and added two blocks and three digs. Nina Vallesi had nine kills, three digs and two blocks in the match.
- Charleston jumped out to a two-set lead after grabbing the second set by a score of 25-15. The Bobcats battled back in the third and gained the 24-22 set lead after a double block by Madison Goins and Destiny Holley. Stigler earned the final kill in the third set as Lees-McRae won 25-23.
- In the fourth set, the two sides traded points throughout the early stages, but UC went on a 5-0 scoring run to hold the 18-13 advantage. The Bobcats tightened the set to 22-20 after back-to-back kills from Stigler, but the Golden Eagles held off the late rally and earned the match in four sets.
- UC had a hitting percentage of .267 with 60 kills to the Bobcats' 46 kills and .197 hitting percentage.
- Lauren Xayavong had a match-high 16 digs for the Bobcats and Goins added 38 assists, four blocks, and four digs in the contest.
FOR THE GOLDEN EAGLES:
- Emma Shepherd led the UC attack with 18 kills on an impressive .394 hitting percentage. Pia Selke and Patrycja Majos followed with 12 kills apiece and Janna Morrissey had 13 digs on the night.

Lees-McRae heads to Bristol, Tennessee for their Conference Carolinas opener at King on Wednesday, Sept. 20. The first serve is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
