Emily Barr and
Kirsten Watt recorded double-digit points in tonight's Conference Carolinas Northwest division contest with Belmont Abbey, but the Crusaders picked up the 62-45 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae got off to a strong start with a made jumper by Layla Tiller and a layup from Logan Dutka in the opening quarter. Paris Brown buried a three with 2:05 left in the first and the Bobcats held the 14-10 advantage after the first 10 minutes.
- Belmont Abbey knotted the score at 19 points apiece with 3:50 left in the first half and two sides traded baskets to end the first half. Barr knocked in a three at the buzzer to give Lees-McRae the one-point lead at 26-25.
- The Crusaders went to the free throw line 13 times in the third quarter and made 11 to lead after 30 minutes at 46-37. Belmont Abbey took the matchup by a final of 62-45 on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
- Barr and Watt combined for 24 points for Lees-McRae and Nadiya Hairston followed with eight on 2-3 from the field and 3-4 from the charity stripe. Layla Tillery notched five points in 25 minutes of play.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Peyton Nation led Belmont Abbey with a game-high 20 points on 7-12 shooting and added nine rebounds in the contest. Abigail Crain and Catherine Hendershott each registered 14 points in the victory for the Crusaders.
