Rodney Smith led four Bobcats in double-digit scoring, but Lees-McRae men's basketball dropped a tough 92-73 loss at Chowan on Saturday. Smith had 16 points off the Bench for Lees-McRae.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- LJ Rogers hit a fastbreak three-pointer to tie the contest at 19 points apiece with 8:29 left in the first half. Chowan used a 9-2 run over the next three minutes to lead 28-21 and the Hawks took the 42-31 lead into the halftime break.
- The Bobcats cut the deficit to nine points after free throw makes from Smith with 14:53 left in the second half, but Chowan picked up the 92-73 win on Saturday in Murfreesboro.
- Smith scored a team-high 16 points on 5-10 shooting and 4-4 from the free-throw line. Jaylin Stewart had 14 points and Williams Onyeodi registered 12 points in 20 minutes of play.
- Ja'Quavian Florence joined his teammates in double figures with 11 points in 25 minutes off the bench.
FOR THE HAWKS:
- RJ Wilson collected a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead Chowan. Daylan Askew joined Wilson with a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
- Preston Le Gassick had 10 points in 35 minutes of action to round out the Hawks in double-digit scoring.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae men's basketball heads to Bristol, Tennessee for a "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" contest against King on Wednesday, Feb. 28. The game with the Tornado is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
