Kirsten Watt combined for 21 points, but Lees-McRae women's basketball fell short to Young Harris, 86-54, on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Young Harris jumped to a 12-2 lead after a three-pointer with 6:55 remaining in the first quarter and took the opening quarter by a score of 86-54. The Mountain Lions claimed the 86-54 win in Conference Carolinas and improved to 5-6 in league contests.
- Watt had a team-high 11 points on 4-8 shooting and Hill followed with 10 points, two rebounds, and one assist.
- Nadiya Hairston tallied nine points and added three assists and two rebounds for the Bobcats. Emily Barr had six points and seven rebounds off the bench today. Dianna Spence collected five points on 2-5 shooting and Shayne Burton scored four points on a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.
FOR THE MOUNTAIN LIONS:
- JaMari Frederick led all scorers on the day with 16 points on 5-6 shooting. Crystal Corley and Trinity Edwards each poured in 11 points for Young Harris. Dustie Obah joined her teammates in double figures with 11 points.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae women's basketball returns to play next Saturday, Feb. 10 for a Conference Carolinas matchup with Mount Olive. The tip-off with the Trojans is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.
