Men's Basketball Defeats Warren Wilson, 119-59, on Tuesday Evening

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's basketball scored a season-high 119 points in tonight's 119-59 victory over Warren Wilson. Nico Ashley led the Bobcats with 18 points and 11 rebounds as all Lees-McRae players tallied points in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Ashley finished an alley-oop from Timon Jones right off the tip as the Bobcats led wire-to-wire in tonight's contest with Warren Wilson.
  • Jeremy Golson hit a three with 12:51 left in the first half to push the Bobcat lead to double-digit at 23-11. Jaylin Stewart pushed the lead to 39 points off a fastbreak dunk at 62-23 and Lees-McRae held the 36-point advantage at the halftime break.
  • Warren Wilson opened the second half with two made baskets, but Lees-McRae coasted to the 119-59 win on Tuesday evening.
  • Ashley went 8-8 from the field and collected 11 rebounds in the victory. Jalen Crowder followed with 15 points on 4-6 from three-point range. Jaylin Stewart also went perfect from the field with seven made field goals for 14 total points. Ja'Quavian Florence recorded four triples on the night for 12 points and Nigel Okwakol had a season-high 11 points and seven rebounds to round out the Bobcats in double figures.
  • The Bobcats made a season-high 46 field goals in the contest and recorded 55 rebounds on Tuesday.
FOR THE OWLS:
  • Dylan Wheatley and Antonio Banuelos had 15 and 14 points in the contest for Warren Wilson. Yoshi Kendrick narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae men's basketball returns to Conference Carolinas play on Saturday, Feb. 10 with a matchup against Mount Olive. The Bobcats will battle against the Trojans starting at 5 p.m. from the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
