BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's lacrosse opened Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon as Converse earned the 24-5 victory on Tate Field.
Irelynd Manning had two goals in the contest for the Bobcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Converse recorded the first seven goals of today's game before Mckenzie Mellen got the Bobcats on the board with 6:08 left in the first quarter. The Valkyries led 10-3 after the first quarter and 16-4 at the halftime break.
- The Valkyries pushed across eight more goals in the second half for the 24-5 win in Conference Carolinas play.
- Manning tallied two goals for Lees-McRae on two free-position shots. Shannan Korovich, Jessica LaFlamme, and Mellen added goals for the Bobcats in the contest.
- Korovich tallied 12 draw controls on Saturday and Nim Castro had three draw controls for the Bobcats.
FOR THE VALKYRIES:
- Becky Reinhard paced Converse in the scoring column with seven goals. Karly Driscoll followed with four goals and one assist. Izzy Eby and Karter Lauer recorded hat tricks on the day.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae makes the trip to Tigerville, South Carolina to face Conference Carolinas member North Greenville on Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m.
