BRISTOL, TENN. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball fell in three sets to "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" foe King on Wednesday evening in Bristol.
Sebastian Heer collected a match-high seven kills for the Bobcats.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: King def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-17)
LOCATION: Student Center Complex – Bristol, Tennessee
RECORDS: King (6-16/4-7), Lees-McRae (1-23/0-11)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- King held off the Bobcats in the first set for the 25-22 set win after a kill by Warren Davis. The Tornado took the final sets by a score of 25-15 and 25-17 for the sweep.
- Lees-McRae had -.069 hitting percentage on the night with 17 kills and King tallied a .243 hitting percentage with 29 kills.
- Heer had a team-high seven kills and four total blocks and Austin Beaird chipped in three kills in the three sets.
- Abdirahman Ahmed dished out 15 assists in three sets and collected four digs. Beaird and Ben Ratliff-Becher recorded five digs in the contest.
FOR THE TORNADO:
- Kellan Kennedy and Mason Martindale had seven kills apiece to lead the Tornado in the match. Aiden Olson distributed 22 assists in three sets.
- Warren Davis and AJ Drooker each tallied four digs in three sets for King.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae hosts Thomas More on Saturday, March 30 on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court. The contest will also be Senior Day for the Bobcats.
