Men's Volleyball Falls to North Greenville in Three Sets

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball fell to North Greenville in three sets on Saturday afternoon in Tigerville, South Carolina. Nicholas Brewster and Sebastian Heer had a team-high seven kills for the Bobcats.
 
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: North Greenville def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-19)
LOCATION: Hayes Gymnasium – Belmont, North Carolina
RECORDS: North Greenville (13-8/10-3), Lees-McRae (1-26/0-13)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • North Greenville started the match with a 3-0 scoring run off a kill from Nicholas Rudge. Diego Rosich finished the first set with a kill for the Crusaders at 25-17.
  • The Crusaders took the second set, 25-13, after hitting .474 with 11 kills and two errors. NGU took the match in three sets after hitting .323 in the third and final set.

FOR THE CRUSADERS:
  • Rosich had a match-high 11 kills to lead North Greenville and added six digs in the match. Tom Curry joined him with double-digit kills with 10 on a .692 hitting percentage.
  • Logan Taylor distributed 32 assists in the three sets and collected five digs, four service aces, and one block.
  • Brewster collected seven kills on 18 attempts for the Bobcats and recorded two digs in the three sets. Heer had seven kills, one block, and one dig in the match and Austin Beaird had three kills and four digs for Lees-McRae.
  • Abdirahman Ahmed registered 23 assists in the match to go along with one kill, three blocks, and four digs.
  • As a team, Lees-McRae had .119 hitting percentage in the match with 25 kills and 17 errors.
 
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae concludes its 2024 season with a "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" matchup against King on Thursday, April 11 in Banner Elk.
