BANNER ELK, N.C. – On Monday, Lees-McRae women's track & field student-athlete
Lora Dillon was recognized to the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Bobcat women's track & field program received recognition on the USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Team for their excellence in the classroom.
Dillon, a sprints/jumps specialist from Clayton, North Carolina, collected a national qualifying mark in the Triple Jump during the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dillon captured third place with a mark of 11.90 meters and tallied a second-place finish in the Long Jump at the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships.
Lees-McRae women's track & field posted a 3.39 cumulative grade point average for the 2023-24 academic year and was recognized to the USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Team.
To be named an NCAA Division II All-Academic Student-Athlete, honorees are required to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25, completed at least 24 semester hours/36 quarter hours through the end of the semester and have achieved an automatic- or provisional qualifying mark.
To be named an NCAA Division II All-Academic Team, programs must have a cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field of 3.0 or higher.
