BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's soccer fell to Conference Carolinas Northwest divisional foe Belmont Abbey on Wednesday, 1-0, after the Crusaders converted a penalty kick in the 64th minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Noah Daragmeh had a shot on target in the 10th minute of the game, but Belmont Abbey's Will Whitman made his first of eight saves of the night.
- Fletcher Dyson had a quality chance in the 26th minute for the Bobcats, but was unable to find the back of the net. Lees-McRae had a 9-1 shot advantage in the first half, but the score remained at 0-0.
- Belmont Abbey broke the scoreless match in the 64th minute off a penalty kick from Alexander Ljusberg.
- Lees-McRae had two more opportunities on goal with Gray Smith in the 85th minute and Jesper Jonsson in the 86th minute, but Belmont Abbey held off the Bobcats for the 1-0 victory on Tate Field.
- Daragmeh and Dyson led the Bobcats with two shots on goal each. Foru other Bobcats had one shot on goal.
- Jonathan Kienle made two saves in goal for Lees-McRae, but suffered the loss.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Ljusberg picked up the lone goal of the evening on a penalty kick in the 64th minute.
- Will Whitman kept the clean sheet with eight saves in goal for Belmont Abbey.
