Jesper Jonsson sent a strike into the right-hand corner of the net as Lees-McRae men's soccer defeated King, 1-0, on Tuesday evening. The Bobcats picked up the first point in the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" with tonight's victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jonsson, a senior from Huddinge, Sweden, broke the 0-0 score with a left-footed strike right outside the box in the 88th minute.
- Caden Pierce had the first shot on target for the Bobcats in the 24th minute, but King's Gauthier Lumale collected the save.
- King's Eric Swain had the other opportunity on goal in the first half, but Jonathan Kienle kept the contest at 0-0.
- Noah Daragmeh had a quality chance in the 60th minute, but hit the post as the two sides remained in a scoreless draw.
- Kienle made the save of the match with a shot on target from Tornado Joe Elliott in the 69th minute.
- The Bobcats posted the 1-0 win over King with the late marker from Jonsson and held off an attack from King in the final two minutes of play.
- Lees-McRae outshot King, 19-8, and 6-2 in shots on goal. The Bobcats had eight corners to King's five.
FOR THE TORNADO:
- Lumale made five saves in goal for King, but conceded the lone goal of the night.
- Elliott and Swain had one shot on goal apiece in tonight's match.
