BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's soccer battled the defending Conference Carolinas Tournament Champions Chowan to a 0-0 draw on Thursday afternoon on Tate Field.
Jonathan Kienle claimed the clean sheet for the Bobcats in goal with four saves and
Harrison Watts led the way on the attack with two shots on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fletcher Dyson got an early chance in the third minute of the contest with a shot on goal, but was saved by Chowan's Chase Jansen. Watts followed in the eighth minute with an opportunity and almost gave Lees-McRae the lead in the 22nd with his second shot on goal of the first half.
- Kienle closed the opening half with three stops in goal for the Bobcats.
- The second half picked up the pace for both squads, but the two teams ended the match in a tie.
- Noah Daragmeh and Nils Schulze joined Dyson and Watts on the boxscore with one shot on goal apiece.
- Daragmeh, Oskar Lindegård, Schulze, and Gray Smith joined Kienle in playing 90 full minutes for Lees-McRae on the day.
FOR THE HAWKS:
- Jansen joined Kienle in the draw with five saves in goal for Chowan.
- Four Hawks had opportunities on goal, but were unable to score in their season opener.
