FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball took the opening set, 25-21, off LIU, but the Bobcats fell to the Sharks in four sets on Wednesday evening on the campus of Purdue Fort Wayne.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: LIU def. Lees-McRae, 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-19)

RECORDS: LIU (3-0), Lees-McRae (0-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae held the 15-14 advantage over LIU in the first set and took a two-point lead off a kill from Jadon Ciriacks at 20-18. Ciriacks closed the set with back-to-back service aces for the 25-21 set win.
- LIU bounced back in the second set with the 25-17 win and took the third by a score of 25-15.
- Austin Beaird started the fourth set with a kill and the Bobcats took an early 4-2 lead with three consecutive points. The Sharks used a 4-0 run at 18-14 and won the set at 25-19.
- Beaird recorded a season-high 12 kills and six digs in tonight's match. Lincoln Scofield followed with eight kills and Ciriacks tallied seven kills on the night.
- Ben Ratliff-Becher had nine digs in the contest and Thiago Da Silva distributed 30 assists in the four sets played.
FOR THE SHARKS:
- Kale Spencer led LIU with 23 kills on a .556 hitting percentage and Vanja Petrasinovic had 15 kills in four sets played.
